Solar Hot Water Tasmania

Even in Australia’s milder climates like Tasmania, residents still enjoy significant sunshine, making solar power a viable sustainable energy solution. Solar is a great way to power your home and heat your water to reduce your energy bills whilst also reducing your carbon footprint.

To better understand your solar power requirements, contact your local Solahart Expert in Tasmania to schedule a free in-home solar assessment. As global pioneers in the solar industry, Solahart is in the best position to assess your solar hot water and solar power (PV) requirements and recommend the right solar energy solution for you. Solahart covers all areas of Tasmania from Launceston to Hobart, Devonport, Burnie and Somerset.

Solahart produced its first solar product in 1953. Since then we have installed over One million systems in over 70 countries. Today, we specialise in a range of solar hot water solutions including roof top solar systems, split solar systems, and heat pumps. We also feature a range of solar power (PV) systems for a complete one-stop shop for solar.

Split Solar System

If you would prefer not to have the storage tank located on the roof, we would recommend a split solar system. A split solar system has the storage tank installed at ground level together with a small circulating pump to ensure constant water flow between the tank and solar collectors (panels) ideally located on a north-facing roof.

Roof Top Solar System

If you have a large north-facing roof, your home may be ideal for a roof top solar system, which includes a roof-top storage tank mounted together with solar panels. The sun’s energy heats the fluid in the panels before transferring this heat to the water in the storage tank.

Heat Pump System

If solar panels aren’t suitable (for example due to shading), we may recommend a heat pump. Heat pumps do not require sunlight to work, which means they can operate both day and night regardless of the weather. The heat pump tank is stored at ground level and can usually be fitted in the same location as your previous gas or electric water heater.

A Solahart Expert is trained to help you better understand what is and isn’t feasible in terms of solar power around your home. We will propose solutions that work around potential issues like space restrictions, shading, or climate issues.
