Renewable Energy Buyback Scheme

Location: WA

Feed-in tariffs under the Western Australian Renewable Energy Buyback Scheme pay for excess electricity generated by small-scale solar power or wind power systems.

Receive payment for the excess electricity generated by your solar power system that is fed back into the electricity grid.

Please note that if you receive feed-in credits it may have implications if you also receive any Centrelink or other benefit payments. They may also be considered as assessable income by the Australian Taxation Office.

To receive a feed-in tariff, a solar power system must be:

  • installed on a household, school or community organisation
  • connected to the grid

Some retailers provide a feed-in tariff for businesses.

Other conditions may apply.
